Casio LK-100 Lighted Keyboard {Review & Giveaway}
I thought about posting a video of my fiance playing the Casio LK-100 for this review, but I'll spare your ears. We are both music lovers, but musicians, we are not! A lighted keyboard has been on both of our mental wish lists since we were children, and to finally own one as parents is a dream come true. Our son will learn to play the keyboard and receive piano lessons when he is older, something we never had the opportunity to do.
ABOUT THE CASIO LK-100
The LK-100 includes:
* 61 Full-Size Illuminated keys
* 12 note polyphony
* 100 tones
* 50 rhythms
* 100 tunes
* LCD display
* Dual speakers
* 3-step lesson system
* Microphone jack with volume control for sing along
* MIDI
* Auto-accompaniment system to generate complete backgrounds with drums, bass and chord parts with the left hand, while playing melodies and solos with the right hand
WHAT DO WE THINK
Like I said before, we're not musicians. So, this particular keyboard fits our "needs". With the lighted keyboard feature and 3-step lesson system, we are slowly learning how to play all of the songs in the LK-100's song bank. However, learning this way is complicated because we only know how to play just those songs, and are not learning the notes and keys.
As a girl who loves to sing, my favorite feature of this keyboard is the microphone jack. Having a microphone jack, obviously allows me to sing along to the music on the keyboard. Once I know how to play more songs, I hope to learn to create my own music and put the microphone jack feature to good use.
My fiance and I have been fighting each other to use the keyboard but it has also brought us together as a family with a new activity for us to do as a family. Our baby crawls to it now and tries to play the keyboard as well. As sad as it is, he may already be the best piano player in the family.
WHAT COULD USE IMPROVEMENT:
I wish the Casio LK-100 had more songs I am familiar with in its song bank. It would have also been nice if the keyboard came with the AC adaptor, since it is pretty essential to have. Luckily, we had an extra one on hand and did not have to purchase one.

What a wonderful, wonderful prize! I'd really love to win this for my oldest son. He would really love this and it's portable, which is wonderful too. He's been practicing playing for a few years now with a friends help. This would be perfect for him to really be able to practice at home.
